The rules, in plain language.
What you agree to when you read this site, download the software or use the network — and what you can honestly expect from us in return.
01Acceptance
This website and the Zclassic software are offered by a decentralised community of users, developers and miners. By opening the site, downloading a release or interacting with the network you accept the terms on this page. If you do not accept them, stop here and do not use the site or the software.
02What Zclassic is — and is not
Zclassic is an open-source, community-run cryptocurrency launched in November 2016 as a fork of Zcash with the founder’s reward removed. There is no company behind it, no ICO, no pre-mine and no one selling coins. No single party controls the network, can freeze an account, or can change the rules for you alone.
Because the project is not a legal entity, no one here can sign a contract with you, issue a refund, or act on your behalf. Help is offered voluntarily by the people who run and maintain the code.
03Information, not financial advice
Everything published on this site — figures, tables, the market snapshot, the list of venues and the answers in the FAQ — is reference information. Nothing here is investment, legal or tax advice, and nothing is an offer to buy or sell anything.
Zclassic trades on thin markets. Prices can move sharply, or not move at all, and a withdrawal can be delayed. Do your own research and never send funds you cannot afford to have stuck.
04The software
The node, the wallet and the related tools are published publicly on GitHub under their respective open-source licences. You may run, copy, modify and redistribute them as those licences allow.
You choose which version to run and from where. Verify what you download, read the release notes, keep your system updated, and understand that a modified or third-party build is not the community’s responsibility.
05Your keys, your coins
Balances are controlled by keys held in your wallet. Losing them, or revealing them, is final. There is no password reset, no recovery desk and no administrator who can reverse a transaction.
- Back up your wallet before you receive funds, and keep that backup offline.
- Never share private keys, seed phrases or your wallet data directory.
- Check addresses carefully, and test with a small amount before a larger transfer.
06Third-party services
Links on this site lead to services the community does not own or operate: GitHub, market-data trackers, trading venues such as NonKyc and SafeTrade, and other independent resources.
Their listings, fees, identity rules, withdrawal support and uptime can change at any time and are theirs alone. Naming a venue here describes a market that exists — it is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or a guarantee that it will stay available.
07The name and the marks
Zclassic, ZCL and the project marks belong to the community that maintains them. You may use them to describe the project honestly. You may not use them in a way that suggests official endorsement, or to sell something as if it were the project itself.
Branding questions and permission requests: support@zclassic.io.
08Use it where it is lawful
You are responsible for using Zclassic where that is legal for you and for meeting any tax, reporting or licensing obligation in your country. The software itself does not restrict anyone; your local law may.
09No warranty, and where liability ends
The site and the software are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, expressed or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a purpose and uninterrupted availability.
To the fullest extent the law allows, the contributors, miners and anyone else who has touched this project are not liable for losses that come from using it — including lost or stolen keys, price movements, failed withdrawals, exchange insolvency, mining losses or software defects.
Where a jurisdiction does not allow part of this, that part is set aside and the rest still stands.
10Changes to the site and to these terms
The site can be changed, paused or removed at any time; there is no service level to promise. These terms may be updated — the date at the top of this page shows the version in force, and continuing to use the site means you accept it.
11Contact
For anything not covered here — a broken link, a correction, a branding question or a report about a listing — write to support@zclassic.io. It is the community’s contact address rather than a customer-service desk, so please allow a few days for a reply.
Write to the community and we will point you to the right place — or fix what is wrong here.
