WALLET / DOWNLOAD

Download the Zclassic wallet.

The official Zclassic wallet gives you full ownership of your funds — private shielded transactions, keys stored locally and nothing asked in return. Free, open source and community-built since 2016.

01 / DOWNLOAD

Choose your wallet.

Two official wallets, one blockchain. The full node wallet is for people who want everything verified locally; Electrum is for a fast, lightweight start.

Full node walletThe original Zclassic desktop wallet. It verifies every block on your own hardware, supports mining and keeps the network decentralised.
Electrum ZclassicA lightweight wallet that starts in seconds — no full blockchain download. Your funds are protected by a seed phrase, so a lost computer never means lost coins.
Download only from GitHub

Get the wallet exclusively from the official ZclassicCommunity repository. Check the release page for checksums and release notes before you run anything.

Follow the documentation

The documentation walks you through installing, encrypting, backing up and restoring your wallet — step by step, for every platform.

Open source, always

Every line of the wallet is public and reviewable. Nothing is hidden, no accounts are required, and your keys never leave your machine.

02 / INSTALL

Install it in a few minutes.

Short, safe steps for each operating system. Every column links to the full chapter in the documentation.

Windows

  1. Download the Windows .zip or installer from the latest GitHub release.
  2. Extract the archive to a folder you control, such as C:\Zclassic.
  3. Run zcl-qt-wallet.exe. If SmartScreen warns you, choose "More info" then "Run anyway" only after confirming the file came from GitHub.
  4. Let the wallet download the parameters and synchronise with the network.

macOS

  1. Download the macOS .dmg from the latest GitHub release.
  2. Open the .dmg and drag the Zclassic wallet into Applications.
  3. On first launch, right-click the app and choose Open to approve it in Gatekeeper.
  4. Wait for the parameters download and the first synchronisation to finish.

Linux

  1. Download the Linux archive from the latest GitHub release.
  2. Extract it: tar -xzf zcl-qt-wallet-*.tar.gz
  3. Make it executable with chmod +x zcl-qt-wallet and start it with ./zcl-qt-wallet
  4. Keep the window open until the wallet is fully synchronised.

03 / SECURE

Before you receive any ZCL.

Three things to do right after installing. They take five minutes and protect your funds for good.

Let it synchronise

On first launch the wallet downloads its parameters and verifies the blockchain locally. Keep it open until the progress bar completes.

Encrypt the wallet

Set a strong passphrase from the settings menu. It protects your funds if anyone else gets access to your computer.

Back up wallet.dat

Export a backup of your wallet file and keep copies offline, on a USB drive or another secure location. Repeat after big changes.

04 / RESTORE

Recover your funds from a backup.

New computer or hardware failure? With your wallet file or private keys, restoring takes four steps.

Find your backup

Locate your wallet.dat backup or your exported private keys. Keep them offline and never share them with anyone.

Install a fresh wallet

Install the latest official release on your computer as described above, then close the wallet completely.

Replace or import

Copy wallet.dat into the Zclassic data folder, or open the wallet and import your private keys from the File menu.

Rescan and verify

Restart the wallet and let it rescan the blockchain. Your balance appears once the rescan finishes — then make a new backup.

No backup means no recovery — not even the developers can restore lost keys.

05 / HELP

Questions and documentation.

Which wallet is right for me?

The desktop wallet suits most people. Choose Electrum Zclassic if you want to start quickly without downloading the blockchain, and run a full node if you mine or prefer to verify every block yourself.

Is the Zclassic wallet free?

Yes. The wallet is free, open-source software maintained by the community. Nobody will ever ask you to pay for it.

Where is the only safe place to download it?

From the official ZclassicCommunity repository on GitHub. Avoid links shared in private messages, ads or unofficial mirrors.

Why does the first synchronisation take so long?

The wallet downloads and verifies the full blockchain on your own computer. This can take several hours the first time; afterwards it only catches up on new blocks.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There are no accounts, emails or sign-ups. Your keys are created and stored locally on your machine.

What happens if I lose my computer?

If you have a backup of wallet.dat or your private keys, you can restore your funds on any new computer. Without a backup, the funds cannot be recovered by anyone.

Should I encrypt my wallet?

Yes. Set a strong passphrase right after installing, and store it somewhere safe. Encryption protects you if someone gets access to your computer.

Can I use the wallet with exchanges?

Yes. Generate a transparent receiving address in the wallet to withdraw ZCL from an exchange, or to send ZCL to a deposit address.

The wallet is free software, distributed without warranty — see the Terms of use.
